Three-year-olds often need movement before they can settle. Clear one arm-span of floor space, move hard objects, and choose a game with an obvious finish. Two to five minutes can be enough. The aim is not exhaustion; it is giving jumping, pushing, balancing, or crawling a safe place in the day.

Try animal pathways: hop like a frog to one cushion, stomp like an elephant to the door, then creep like a cat to the start. Or pause a short song every fifteen seconds and freeze with both feet on the floor. Adults should model the freeze instead of calling out a child for wobbling.

A pillow delivery game adds heavier work. Ask the child to carry three couch cushions one at a time to a pretend house. Never stack pillows near stairs or cover a face. Other choices are tape-line tiptoes and a laundry-basket beanbag toss. Rotate one game at a time.

Finish by returning materials and taking three slow balloon breaths. Faster, louder play may show excitement, while turning away or becoming disorganized may mean the game needs a slower ending. Offer water and a quiet next activity.
